Somatic therapy addresses anxiety at the nervous system level, where talk therapy alone doesn't reach.

Research from Stephen Porges on polyvagal theory and Peter Levine's work in Somatic Experiencing shows that the body holds stress responses that the mind cannot simply think its way out of. This work completes them.

I'm Katie Hargreaves, LCSW, LCAS. I've been practicing for over six years, with more than 4,000 sessions in somatic and nervous system-focused therapy.

I also resolved clinical anxiety myself. That's not a detail I include for credibility. It's the reason I work the way I do.

I keep my practice small. A limited number of clients at a time, longer sessions, unhurried work. Not a slot in a packed schedule. Yours.

My training includes Alchemy Somatics, Embody Lab, and polyvagal-informed approaches. I work with high-achieving professionals, creatives, entertainment industry clients, and LGBTQ+ individuals in California and North Carolina.

I work with clients throughout California, including somatic therapy in Los Angeles, and across North Carolina, including anxiety therapy in Chapel Hill. All sessions are virtual via online therapy in Charlotte and online therapy in Los Angeles.

Therapy Investment

California clients: $275 per 60-minute session.

North Carolina clients: $250 per 60-minute session.

Sessions are private pay. I do not work with insurance panels.

If you carry out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. Many clients recover a meaningful portion of the session fee this way. You can estimate your reimbursement using the Thrizer out-of-network calculator. Sessions can also be paid with HSA or FSA funds. Sessions can also be paid with HSA or FSA funds.
